Limestone Tiles – The Most Unique Decoration

Limestone is a sedimentary stone which is commonly used in the UK as a building material. Limestone tiles are imported from worldwide such as India, Israel and Turkey, and are considered to be one of the softest stone tiles.

Limestone tiles come in many different colors and designs. Usually, the colors available are like earthy tones of greens, blues, greys, creams, beiges and dark browns. It is particularly a popular stone tile specially for bathroom areas.

Further, if you want durable kitchen flooring, then you must consider limestone flooring. Limestone tiles are available in many different patterns and pale, neutral colors, and thus make a great choice for modern kitchen flooring and design. The main reason that why they are being considered by many as the preferred tile material is because they provide hardness, low porosity and are very attractive. The limestone is very durable and comes with oil resistant properties.

In order to prevent from staining and to maintain its look, it is very important that limestone should be properly sealed.

When we look for pure limestone, it is white or off-white, as it has impurities such as clay, sand, iron oxide, or other materials, limestone tends to exhibit different colors. There are also texture variations because limestone tiles vary in shade and surface appearance.

You would be astonished to know that limestone is very soft. However, certain different types of hard and dense limes stone also exist. That’s why limestone is considered to be the best choice for kitchen flooring.

Several landmarks around the world are made up of limestone tiles. North America and Europe have used this stone for creating various architectures and buildings. Several public buildings and train stations, banks and other structures built in the early 20th and late 19th centuries were made up of limestone.

It is very commonly used in architecture across the world in modern construction in Europe and North America and in many older landmarks such as the great pyramids in Egypt which are made entirely from Limestone.
